We installed the vista x64 V4.84 the one available at the HP website driver for our HP1050c plotter. Everything works fine except it does not trim the paper when the inked area is done and instead it trims the paper at the specified length of the paper size. The relevant option is checked in the properties. The Vista driver should work with Windows 10, but make sure you use the HP/GL-2 driver as opposed to the PostScript driver. Then also be sure to have the correct options listed in the driver. Your best option is to just unpack the exe file from the HP site using 7-Zip and install the driver by pointing to the correct folder with the inf file.

As best I know Autocad 2015-17 and probably other recent Autodesk software are incompatible with the 1050C 105XcX and I think even the 500 amp; 800 at least in Win 10 probably 8-10, maybe just simply incompatible, regardless of OS, not sure. You will need to update your pc3 files and page setups in your templates, and educate your users to select the updated pc3 and import updated page setups so that they are using the alternative driver. We have two HP1050C plotters one is the Plus model, they are 15 and 12 years old.
